Legal 500Detailed research and interviews are carried out by the Legal 500 – the leading guide to law firms and solicitors in the UK and worldwide – with clients and peers. This has led to our private client, family, personal injury and clinical negligence teams receiving recommendations in the 2023 publication.

This year’s recommendations are particularly rewarding for the firm, as its clinical negligence team has raised a level, to tier three, and Bradie Pell, partner and head of the firm’s family team has been awarded the ‘Next Generation Partner’ accolade.  The Legal 500 describes those given this award as ‘lawyers with (generally) five years or fewer at partner level, significant recognition from clients and peers in the market, and recent lead roles on multiple matters’.

In addition to these recommendations, the Legal 500 recognises significant individuals within the firm with the ‘Recommended Lawyer’ accolade.  This year, the following people received this recommendation:

Family team – Bradie Pell and Philippa Smith

Private client team – Chris Shaw and Laura Cowan

Medical negligence team – Peter Clark, Carol Simpson, Nikki Yavari and Jessica Brown

These recommendations are based on comments, such as those shown below, from clients and fellow professionals.

The family team is described as ‘very organised from the start’ with ‘brilliant client care’ and ‘very passionate about client welfare.’ Nicola Cancellara is described as‘fantastic’, with ‘empathy and compassion’ and she ‘simplified things such that I could make informed decisions’.
