Nicola is a solicitor in our family law department, based in our offices in Chesterfield. She joined the firm in December 2014.
She has practiced law since 2000, specialising in family law. After qualifying from Sheffield Hallam University with a law degree, and undertaking her Legal Practice Course in Birmingham, Nicola qualified as a solicitor in 2006. She covers the whole range of family law issues, including divorce, finances, children, prenuptial agreements, cohabitation agreements and domestic violence. Nicola has a particular interest in Children Act proceedings.
Nicola is a member of the Law Society Family Law Accreditation Scheme, demonstrating that she has and will maintain a high level of knowledge, skills, experience and practice in family law issues. She is also a member of the family lawyers’ organisation, Resolution.
She is passionate about giving her clients the best possible service; offering a pragmatic and empathetic approach, putting clients at ease and instilling trust and confidence from the beginning. Nicola dedicates herself to securing the best possible result for her clients in a non-adversarial way. Much of her work comes from personal and professional recommendations.
Nicola represented a couple in a case which went before Sir James Munby in the Family Court where the father of a child had been left without legal parentage due to a blunder made by an IVF clinic. Read the full story.
