Rotten decking causes accident on holiday

Personal injury specialist, Tracey Dickinson, has won just under £2,000 in compensation for a woman who had an accident whilst on holiday.

The woman was relaxing in a hot tub that was part of the log cabin in which she was on holiday.  As she got out of the hot tub and stepped onto the decking that surrounded it, it gave way.  She discovered that the wood was totally rotten.  The woman suffered injuries to her ribs and lower leg which lasted for six and four weeks respectively.

She contacted Graysons to see if she could make a claim for compensation and Tracey took up her case. Tracey contacted the owner of the log cabin, Forest Holidays Ltd., who admitted liability but failed to make an offer of compensation so Tracey issued court proceedings.  She was then, however, able to negotiate a settlement with the cabin owner and her client was very happy with the outcome.
