The event was organised by Graysons as part of our sponsorship of the city’s celebrated Art in the Gardens event, which was held in the Botanical Gardens last month – the only big art show that has been allowed to take place in the region this year.

Sophie Dobson of Whiston Worrygoose Primary in Rotherham, who won the over 9s’ competition, was joined by under 9s’ winner Bertie Coupe of Manor Lodge Community Primary School.

The competition was judged by local artist Alan Pennington who helped organise it.

Graysons’ managing partner, Peter Clark said:

“It has been a hard year for everyone and we were glad to bring some normality to the local arts world with our continued involvement in Sheffield’s Botanical Gardens event.  There was a great uptake for the kids’ art competition with a high standard and number of entries.  Sophie and Bertie were worthy winners”.

Graysons first made its mark on the local arts world three years ago when we commissioned Sheffield-born artist Alan Pennington to do a number of designs for our new offices. We are also the new sponsors of Sheffield Young Artists 2021.
