Over 5,000 people attended the event, held at the city’s Botanical Gardens on Saturday and Sunday, 7th and 8th September, with a preview evening on Friday 6th September. Even rain on Sunday morning couldn’t dampen the spirits of the city’s art lovers as they turned up to see hundreds of amateur and professional artists and craftspeople displaying their work at the region’s biggest outdoor event of its kind.
We were joined once again by Sheffield artist Alan Pennington who has created many original works for Graysons and who exhibited some of his artwork at the stand. This year, Graysons commissioned two new bespoke designs by Alan, which adorned the ever-popular promotional giveaways, such as bags and mugs, that visitors to Graysons’ marquee were given as a unique memento of the event’s 21st anniversary.
Alan also judged the firm’s children’s art competition, which was as popular as ever this year, enjoying bumper numbers of entrants.
Peter Clark, managing partner at Graysons, said:
“We’ve been involved with Art in the Gardens as premier sponsor since 2019 and this year was another success. It was a real pleasure for us to help stage such an important event in the city’s arts calendar again. It’s a wonderful celebration of the variety of artistic work from the region and beyond.”
