Compensation for fall in pub

Personal injury specialist, Tracey Dickinson, has won over £1,000 in compensation for a woman who fell down a step in a bar in Leicester.

Step area after Pi Bar had painted yellow warning signs

Cindy Keay was out with friends at the Pi Bar in Leicester.  She was in an outside, covered smoking area at the time of the accident, which happened when she stepped backwards and fell off the edge of an unmarked step.

During the fall Cindy sustained injuries to her left arm, thigh and elbow and has been left with scarring.  She needed help with everyday chores for some time. Cindy complained to the bar and it sent her photos of the step after her accident when yellow warning paint had been added.

Feeling that the accident was not her fault, Cindy contacted Graysons to see if she could claim compensation and Tracey took up her case.  Tracey contacted the bar, but it denied liability, despite making amends to the site after Cindy’s accident.  Tracey obtained medical evidence and issued court proceedings against the Pi Bar.  The bar did not respond to the issue and so Tracey applied to the court for judgement, which was granted, saying the claim was worth between £1,000 and £1,250.  Once again, the defendant failed to respond and so Tracey contacted the bar’s solicitors who eventually made an offer of £1,150, which Cindy accepted.

Tracey was “outstanding”
