The prize giving ceremony at Sheffield Town Hall

Councillor Andrew Sangar welcomed the winners of this year’s children’s art competition into the Lord Mayor’s parlour, where he presented prizes and congratulated them on their achievements.

The children were joined by their families, staff of competition organisers, Graysons Solicitors, and local artist Alan Pennington, who helped judge the competition.

The competition, held at last month’s Art in the Gardens at Sheffield Botanical Gardens, attracted entries from scores of budding young artists keen to show off their imagination and creativity.

Graysons has been premier sponsor of Art in the Gardens for the past eight years.

Peter Clark, managing partner at Graysons, said: “It’s always a pleasure to see the enthusiasm and creativity that Sheffield’s young artists bring to this competition.

“Art in the Gardens is a wonderful celebration of the city’s creative talent, and we’re particularly proud to play a part in encouraging the next generation.”
