Marilyn is a specialist in clinical negligence law, an area in which she has specialised since qualifying as a solicitor in 2008, after graduating from Sheffield Hallam University with an LLB and undertaking her Legal Practice Course at the University of Sheffield.

Working mainly for the claimant during her career, Marilyn has recently spent around 18 months working for the defendant at a national defendant firm on the NHS Litigation Authority Panel.  This experience helps to give her an all-round view of the clinical negligence process.

Marilyn deals with the full range of clinical negligence work, including obstetrics, gynaecology, general surgery, orthopaedics, brain injury, cosmetic surgery, dental and acting for the deceased.  She has a particular specialism in dealing with wrongful birth claims.  She is currently working towards accreditation with the Law Society Clinical Negligence Accreditation Scheme.

A very active person, Marilyn spends most of her spare time taking part in “anything and everything sporty”, including running, climbing and snowboarding.  She has taken part in a number of half marathons and has been a member of Sheffield Running Club.
