Today it announces its backing for one of South Yorkshire’s brightest stars – ballet dancer Tala Lee-Turton.
Originally from Barnsley, the Sheffield-based performer and Bolshoi Ballet Academy alumna unveils her latest work at The Playhouse, Sheffield Theatres this autumn, on November 11th.
parler femme is a dance-based triple bill celebrating innovative and inspiring stories about women. It follows Tala Lee-Turton’s Dance in the Gardens that was performed in Sheffield’s Botanical Gardens in 2022.
Tala Lee-Turton said:
“I’m honoured to be back in South Yorkshire and performing for the very first time at Sheffield Theatres. This production is very personal to me and has taken three years to create, bringing together the magic of live dance, screen-based storytelling, and immersive technology that tell a rich and varied array of stories by women. I’m honoured to receive the support from Graysons – it is a fantastic asset for the creative sector of the region.”
Graysons celebrates its fifth year of sponsorship of Sheffield’s Art in the Gardens in September.
Peter Clark, managing partner at Graysons, said:
“Following the success of Dance in the Gardens in 2022, we are pleased to support such a unique project as Tala Lee-Turton’s parler femme production. South Yorkshire has a wealth of cultural and creative talent, and we are glad to help promote the arts in the region and beyond. We wish Tala every success with her latest venture.”
