On 27^th March 2023, partner and head of Graysons’ family law team, Bradie Pell, family law solicitor, Megan Wroe – a previous graduate from SHU with a first-class degree in law, and winner of the Graysons’ Family Law Prize – and trainee solicitor, Philippa Smith, gave a guest lecture to mainly third year law students.  They spoke about life as a family law solicitor, the types of work they deal with and their own career paths.

Organiser, Dan Fauset, said that the presentation went really well and that the feedback from the students was positive.

“The lecture was extremely informative and helpful in outlining future pathways for students and gave a really good insight into what roles/tasks a family law solicitor completes. It has definitely made me consider going into this area of law.”

All three members from Graysons shared their experiences of the day-to-day life in family law as a practice area while also sharing their own experiences from graduating and entering into the legal sector. I left with some valuable advice on how to improve my confidence and advocacy, and how to move forward after graduating to gain more transferable skills and knowledge. I thank all three of you for taking the time to deliver this guest lecture and for answering my questions!”
