The talk explored how each of our lawyers began their own careers, all very differently, and gave the students tips on writing their CVs and on job interview techniques. They shared the diversity of work undertaken from day to day in family law, dealing with clients, courts, advocacy and social media, and gave some valuable advice on ‘do’s and don’t’s’ once in practice. The talk concluded with a Q&A session.
Bradie Pell says “It was great fun to meet and speak with the family lawyers of tomorrow. We hope our talk has encouraged the students and given them some real insight into family law in practice.” Lecturer and organiser of the event, Dan Fauset, said the students had been inspired by the talk and many had concluded that family law really was their future career of choice.
