Compensation for fall on pavement in Chesterfield

Graysons’ personal injury partner, Jonathan West, has won over £4,000 in compensation for a woman who fell on a pavement in Chesterfield.

fall pavement ChesterfieldMrs S was walking along a pavement in Chesterfield when she stumbled on a metal cover that was lower than the surrounding tarmac.  She fell to the ground, hitting her face.  She suffered pain and bruising around her jaw, and pain at the back of her neck and in both of her knees.  Following the accident, she attended Chesterfield Hospital, where she was examined and given pain relief.

Mrs S then contacted Graysons to see if she could claim compensation for the accident and Jonathan took up her case.  He referred her to a medical expert who confirmed that her injuries were caused by the accident.  Jonathan contacted Chesterfield Borough Council, who admitted liability for the accident.  Within four months, Jonathan was able to negotiate a settlement of just over £4,000 for Mrs S.
