Rachel is a solicitor in our family department.
She joined the firm in October 2017.
Rachel obtained a first-class degree in law at the University of Hull. She qualified as a solicitor in 2009 and has practiced family law in the Sheffield, Rotherham and Chesterfield region since then.
She deals with the whole range of family law issues, including divorce, separation, finances (including high value cases), children issues, domestic abuse, property issues, prenuptial and living together agreements and applications under Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996 (TOLATA).
She acted in a reported case, T v B, which dealt with a same sex couple (who had not entered into a civil partnership) and whether the non-biological parent was a parent for the purposes of Schedule 1 of the Children Act 1989, which would allow the court to make an order for financial relief.
Rachel has previously sat on the board of North Derbyshire Women’s Aid.
