‘Selfless’ Sabina proves to be a role model for autism awareness week

A Sheffield mother’s unwavering support for her autistic son truly struck a chord with us here at Graysons.

The commitment of ‘selfless’ Sabina France – whose son Jake has complex needs which also include ADHD and learning difficulties – has persuaded Graysons to re-affirm our commitment to local autism charity Sparkle Sheffield.

World Autism Awareness Week started on Monday 29th March and Katie Birch, a private client advisor in our wills and probate department and an expert in the area of protecting assets for the benefit of people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), says it’s important that inspiring parents and carers are championed.

She said:

“Being part of the recent Sparkle Sheffield Autism Awards 2021 was truly humbling and we want to re-affirm out commitment to the charity going forward. Sabina France was a true role model. As well as providing round-the-clock care for her son, she also found time to ensure events at her local church were both special educational needs (SEN)-friendly and accessible to children with autism.”

As well as being a key member of the wills, estates, trusts and elderly client services team at Graysons, Katie Birch also helps spearhead much of the firm’s fund-raising activity. She works closely with Sparkle Sheffield, Bluebell Wood, St Luke’s Hospice and other charities. She has provided free wills advice sessions and hosted events highlighting the importance of powers of attorney and trust arrangements.
