Peter Bacon, senior relationship manager at RBS Sheffield said:
“An RBS colleague from London has been diagnosed with terminal prostate cancer and given two to five years to live. So far, he has defied the earliest prognosis and is continuing to raise money for the charity by taking part in a range of events, including ultramarathons.”
One of challenges that Peter’s colleague set himself was to complete seven marathon length walks in seven days, and RBS members in South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire wanted to help. A marathon walk around Derwent reservoirs was organised and 28 commercial managers from around the region took part, helping to raise over £50,000 across the North of England. Peter said:
“We enjoyed the day immensely and were all very pleased to have helped with our colleague’s fundraising efforts. We were amazed that we raised such a huge amount of money and thank Graysons and all of our sponsors for their generosity in supporting us.”
