As a match sponsor, not only did we enjoy the game, but also the Spireites’ fabulous corporate hospitality in the team’s impressive Proact Stadium, and some of our group were treated to a guided tour around the stadium before we settled down to watch the match.
We were pleased to welcome Peter Swallow as one of our guests on the evening. Peter is chair of Destination Chesterfield and managing director of Bolsterstone Group Plc: one of the lead investors in the Chesterfield Waterside scheme, and project manager of the development as a whole.
Peter, other guests and Graysons’ partners and staff were treated to an excellent match that saw Chesterfield score in the opening minute of the game. A goal early in the second half saw Chesterfield lead 2 – 1. Cambridge equalised, but in the final seconds of the match, pipped Chesterfield to the post by scoring again to win 3 – 2.
Of course, we always enjoy Chesterfield’s matches, but more so when we are able to get involved. This time, Graysons’ managing partner, Peter Clark, handed the prize to man of the match, chosen by Graysons’ party, Lewis Reed. Head of business development at Graysons, Chris Rodgers and conveyancer, Katie Bacon also got involved by handing the match balls to the team before it got on with the game.
