The accident happened in Derbyshire on an exposed road during high winds.  The client was driving an HGV tipper truck when a high-sided vehicle (Iveco 7.5 tonne) tipped over and collided with him, crushing his cab.

The client was detained in hospital for 8 days, having suffered a significant head injury, lacerations to his neck, chest and arm, a fractured collarbone and a dislocated shoulder.  He was in acute pain for many weeks and some of the discomfort will last for years.  His lifting capabilities were severely reduced and he also suffered post concessional syndrome, double vision and poor short-term memory and cognitive function.  Since the accident, the client’s brain trauma has led to headaches, dizziness, depression, anxiety and other psychological issues.
